No documented proof yet,but found evidence in 'Patterson's History of Victoria County' 1978,College of Cape Breton Press.
'In the summer of 1812,John Gwinn and family moved from the Gut of Canso to Aspy Bay...some months later came Gwinn's son in law,George Carter...'
Also states John's father came to the states from the town of Ayr in Scotland.

I agree the George Carter family followed John Gwynn to Aspy Bay in 1812. And I believe the George Carter family returned sometime later back to Gut of Canso. I just have no proof that Sarah is the name of John Gwynn's daughter who married George Carter. Yet!

I just have Sarah as wife of George Bruce Carter from a family tree done up in 1992 by Mary Koen of MA.
No mention of Gwin found anywhere.Marriage in 1801.

George would have been 15 years old and Sarah 17,Elizabeth is born 20 Jan 1802 in Nova Scotia,very young.
