Perhaps someone has information help. I have a Joseph Gwin that was born in 1787 in New Jersey. Many trees online give children of him: James W. Gwin (1820-1895), Hannah Goldie Gwin (1824-1907), Ruhanna Gwin (1827-____), Eunice Gwin (1829-____) and Rebecca Jane Gwin (1833-1867. The trees then state that Joseph Gwin married Rachel Caster in 1834, and had the following children: Benjamin Gwin (1835-____), Susan Gwin (1838-____), Rachel Philena Gwin (1840-1896), Joseph Wesley Gwin (1840-____), and Mary Gwin (1844-1918). What is bothering me is if Joseph and Rachel were married in 1834, who was the mother of the children before 1834? I also have two other boys that records show were the sons of Joseph Gwin: Calvin W. Gwin (1814-____) and Jabin R Gwin (1817-1898). Something here does not compute. Can someone straighten me out?
