I am tracking down the Gwins in my family. As far as i know, we are all in Louisiana and a few in Texas.

My great Grandparents were Odis Ray Gwin sr. and Mildred Mcknight.

Odis Ray "Sr." GWIN, can be found on the 1930 Richland Co., LA Census, listed as Odie R. GWIN (age 7). I presume this is the same as your Odis.

which means Odis Ray "Sr." GWIN's parents are:
Thomas M. GWIN and Letha L. SMITH
Prior Lee "II" GWIN and Marthia (unknown)
Prior Lea "Sr." GWIN and Catherine Adams
James GWIN and Deliliah LEA

(these GWIN's are not of my line, but have done some researched them).

Please provide some info on your line, other than "old time Philadelphia" ... for example a name and/or date, (between 1850 to 1930) .. so possibly .. other reseachers or myself might be able to track backwards to assist you.

Respectfully,

I have traced my linage back to William Gwinn 1770 Philadelphia. I have discovered several Gwinn people of that time in the Virginia's and Carolina's, and western parts of Pennsylvania but can make no solid connection to my William's parents or siblings. William, (wife inknown) had a son William b1811 who married Ruth b1812 (her last name unknown) They lived in the Southwark District of Phila. for many generations. I believe if I can find William Sr's parents & siblings, all my loose pieces will fall into place.
