I have a file on some Welshpool Gwilts. William Gwilt b. 1840 Welshpool m. Eleanor Davies b. 1842 Welshpool. There was a large family of Gwilts in Welshpool in the mid 1800'a.

Hi, William Gwilt b 1840 had a brother Richard Lloyd Gwilt b 1839, he gave birth to William Gwilt b 1867, he gave birth to Richard Gwilt b 1901, he gave birth to Lucy Gwilt b 1934, she gave birth to me Jennifer Ward 1965. Therefore William Gwilt b 1840 is my great, great uncle!
William and Richard's father was Wlliam Gwilt b 1814.
Jennifer.

William Gwilt's wife, Eleanor Davies is my 'genetic cousin" because one of her direct maternal descendants and I have the same mitochondrial DNA haplotype. I'm trying to find where our families connect and it is probably in Welshpool. I do have a file on the descendants of William and Eleanor Gwilt - would you like me to send it to you? I'm interested in the daughters and there were 7 but I don't know yet who they married, except Elizabeth Jane who married Timothy Francis Hiles, although another 2 of them are in the Fordon, Montgomeryshire marriage registration books. Marian in California
I also have a match with women in Glamorganshire (Rees) and Carmarthenshire (Griffith) so am trying to follow their direct maternal ancestors back through the years. Mt DNA changes very slowly so I might not be able to find the connections because they may be related too far back to be able to find records.
