I am looking for any information about Gwilt decendents in the United States, With alot of help from distant cousins we have compiled quite a database and would like to pass it on and continue to add relevant information

My name is John Gwilt my fathers name is Basil Gwilt he was born in Bromyard Herefordshire in 1922. I would like to find out more about the Gwilts to eventully compile some history if possible.

Hi, Funny thing, I have a Basil Gwilt b. 1921 on my tree, but he was born in Dowigiac, MI,USA. He also had a son Basil Gwilt. I mostly have data on Gwilts in the United States, but am starting a One name study on all Gwilts. I will look for information on your Basil and will be in touch if I find anything. My family comes from Welshpool although my G.G.Grandfather was born in Forden.He was William Gwilt b. 1814 he married Jane Lloyd.The family lived there until sometime before the end of the century when they moved to Scotland.There are still Gwilt's living in Welshpool.Any connections Andrew Gwilt

i don't know if there are any connections, however i do know that there were a few william & maurice gwilts...also they were somewhere around montgomery and one of them owned a farm there, the family gave up the farm when my dad was born in 1946

my father is a gwilt - we are able to trace the name back to his great great great grandfather who (we think) came from tipton, england - my mother might know more - her address is prisg@camalott.com
