I am trying to find details about my g-g-grandmother Ann Compleu GWILLIAM b. 1824 Chilcomb, Hampshire. Her daughter Rosina Jane GWILLIAM was born 1867 in Little Dawley, Shropshire. At the time of the 1881 census Ann was still unmarried and living with her daughter in Walsall Foreign, Stafford.

It sounds as though the Gwilliam you are searching for may be related to one I am searching for also. I am trying to find any info on Ethel. The following is all I know:
She was born 2-15-1891 in Staffordshire, England. She came to U.S. as a young lady and married Joseph Joshua Taylor. I do not know who Ethel's parents were in England. Ethel had one daughter born in the U.S., Ruth Jospehine Taylor Valdez. Ethel passed away in Calif. on March 4, 1955. All of her personal papers in-cluding her diary burned in a house fire in California as did her husband's papers. If you
can connect Ethel to the branch you are working on, I would welcome any information.
Thanks, Jan.

Hi Janice
I am afraid I don't have much on my Gwilliam's at the moment, but this is what I have:-
My g-grandmother was Rosina Jane GWILLIAM b. 6 Sept 1866, Little Dawley, Shropshire. From her birth certificate I have Mother Ann GWILLIAM, late LANE, formerly WINKWORTH (have found out her father was John COMPLIN and her mother was Mary WINKWORTH)Father John GWILLIAM. Ann Rosina Jane were living in Walsall Foreign, Staffordshire at the time of the 1881 census (they were the only people recorded in that dwelling). Rosina Jane married George TAYLOR and their daughter Annie (my grandmother) was born 30 Oct 1898 address The Vigo, Walsall Wood, Staffordshire. I don't know if Rosina Jane had any siblings or where when John GWILLIAM was born, died or married.

Dear Chris: Thanks for the information. If I can make any connections will let you know or if I come across any of your Gwilliams. In your research, please keep your eyes open for Ethel May Gwilliam. Thanks, Jan

Hi Jan,
I believe I am related to the gwilliams that resided in the staffordshire area and have been developing my family tree- I'm not sure if you can see my profile but it might be worth you having a look at it ? It does come with a bit of a warning though - I have been quite slap dash with it so all the information will need double - checking and verifying...
