Betsi,

I went to the Fowlerville cemetery and dug down enough to read the dates on Mathew's stone. It says 1820-1895. However, neither the City, Livingston County, or the State of Michigan has a death certificate for him so I am going to check to see if he may have died in Minnesota while visiting his sons there. So far, no luck on the marriage record either!

Kingsbury 1883 There are Kingsburs or Kinsbury in the Livingston County area But the 1900 Census says she came to US in 1884 5. Gwatkins Looks like sometime before 1895. I may have already told you she is listed in the 1900 census as Mary Gwatkin.

That is a problem I have with the family. Cannot find connections between Ling family in small communities in England , same thing in Prince Edward Island, in Ontario, then again in Webberville and Fowlerville and Lansing. Have taken to collecting what I find on the "Other" Lings hoping I will fall on the missing link. And will probably have to go that far back.

I am trying to find a connection to my father, he had a sister May,(possibly family nickname) she was a big lady, who married a Charlie Gwatkin, I dont know dates, but remember mum & dad writing to them someplace in england, during the 60's-70's, the rest of May & my dads family went to USA to Barnesboro, Pennsylvania, I cannot find anyone so am hoping this path will shed some light, my dad was John William Wall, & their parents were, John Henry Wall & lydia Hannah Wilmot, if you know any of these names I would be most grateful for any info you might have as someone may know some small detail to help me.
I have reason to believe my dads parents might have lived in Nottingham & perhaps gone from there to America, Thankyou in advance, Coralyn Wall

Dear J Gwatkin

I saw you post. I have Gwatkin in my family tree and most are from Walford with a smattering from Goodrich. I wonder if we are connected. Do you have any details you can share. My history goes from about 1790- 1900 on this branch of family. I also have links to Phillips in Walford just in case you are related to any of them too. Interesting about coat of arms

best wishes
