INCORRECT FAMILY TREE ON ANCESTRY--GWALTNEY, HARDY, BURKE

Surnames: GWALTNEY, HARDY, BURKE, PARISH
There is a family tree on Ancestry that has incorrect information about Sarah Burke, daughter of John Wesley Burke, Sr. Sarah was the mother of Delta Hardy, who was married to a man whose last name was Gwaltney. John Wesley Burke was my great grandfather; Sarah's sister, Mena, was my grandmother. I am using this method of reporting this error since this particular family tree has no contact information and, as of this date, there is no option for adding a "post-em" note to call attention to the inaccuracy.

This tree shows Lida Helen Merrill as Sarah Burke Hardy's mother. This is incorrect; Helen was Sarah's stepmother. Sarah's mother was Matilda Elizabeth Parish, daughter of Wyatt Wesley Parish, Jr. and Eveline B. Skaggs. John Wesley married Lida Helen Merrill on August 27, 1945, in Oxford County, Maine. Helen was about 69 years old when they married; therefore, they had no children. He apparently found Helen through a "lonely-hearts" magazine.

Here is what the entry looks like on Ancestry:

Am researching Parish line. Believe there is a connection to the Parish's mentioned. Have lost contact with Debbie Isaza, who was working on same theory.

Debbie is my niece. She hasn't been as active in her research as she was a few years ago.

If you can "bring me up to speed" on what you have regarding the Parishes, maybe I can help you.

I have bros, Wiley and Thomas Marshall Parish born in Ga
1810 and 1812. Wiley married Mahala Wester in Decatur Co, Ga in 1832. There are my gggrands. I have everything on them from the 1830'2 forward. Wiley and Wyatt were common names of their descendants. The bros settled in Liberty and Calhoun Co, Fla, where I still live. Debbie and I believe there was a connection. The last correspondence we had, she was having difficulty verifing her Wyatt's ancestors.

I would appreciate your input.

Is Debbie OK?
