I am looking for the following family and if you can help I would sure appreciate it. Thanks
Joseph Guzik no dates but know that he is from Poland. I do not have the name of his wife. Their children are:
1)Zophia (Sophia) Guzik born 10 February 1860 in Glowienka, Krosno, Poland. She married Franciszek Banas (born 1856 also in the same place) I would suspect that they married abt. 1887 +- a few years.

Zophia (Sophia as I will now call her) and Franciszek (Frank as I will now call him) immigrated to the US between 1889-1891 this because they had two children born in Poland the last being born in 1889 in Poland. She was named Mary Ann Banas, and the third being born in 1891 in Texas that being Joseph Banas which is my line. Their children's names are as follows:

1) Stanley he died upon docking in Pennsylvania US.
2) Mary Ann 3 May 1889 Poland - 10 Feb. 1984 Aberdeen BC, Canada
3)Joseph (our line) 27 Dec. 1891 in Texas USA -21 Oct. 1961 He married and divorced Yvonne Lambin
4) Jack 29 March 1897 USA- 3 Sept. 1971 Matsqui, BC, Canada and is buried at Hazelwood cemetary
5)John 18 April 1899 Wallace Texas - 6 May 1971 Vancouver. BC, Canada
6) Walter 19 Sept. 1902 USA- 13 Dec. 1910 and is buried in Sumas Washington along with his father Frank.

If you have any information on these families or know someone that could help me further my search please contact me.
Thank you,
Ross Bonneau

It is intriguing to see someone looking for relatives from Glowienka,Poland. My father's side (Stanley Guzik) have emigrated from Harrisburg,Pennsylvania to Glowienka,Poland in ,I believe, 1925. They had 4 boys (John, Ted, Stanley and Frank) and 2 girls, Irene and Mary.
After 2nd World War some of the grown kids started to emigrate back to USA. Irene settled in New York while John and Ted settled in Detroit. My father Stanley, his brother Frank and sister Mary remained in Poland. We emigrated (my father, mother and brothers) emigrated back to USA in 1962 and settled in Chicago area. My grandfather's name was Stanley but at this time I do not know of his family tree. Some of our relatives still reside in Glowienka,Poland.
Because your search mentions Guzik family, Pennsylvania, and Glowienka than maybe there is some connection and if not it was pleasure exchanging some taughts.

Regards,
Adam Guzik

Hi Adam it was so exciting to see your posting. My husband's cousin Nadine and I are struggling with this Guzik line. Are you aware that there is a Guzik message board where you can get email notice's of postings and see if anyone has the same or familiar names as you? If you like I can give you the address to it.
But back to the Guzik's, we know very little and have been struggling to locate anymore information on them. We know a great deal on the Banas line which Zophia married into. Word is that the Guzik family wasn't mentioned much as people didn't want to talk about the home land. Are you aware of the name of Banas being mentioned in your Guzik line and or any of them coming to British Columbia Canada? They were quite well off here.
I look forward to hearing more from you. Would you be okay with my passing on your email address to our cousin who is activly searching this line as I am struggling with serious health problems at this time. She would be thrilled to hear from you.
Or better yet I can give you her email address.
Let me know
Cheers Sherry

Hi Sherry.Thank you for responding to my inquiry regarding GUZIK family. I will try to learn more from my mother and family in Poland regarding the name Banas. Because we have left Poland in 1962 and although we have been visiting
relatives on many occasions since then, the subject has never been brought up in detail. Perhaps there is a family of Guzik's that we are a part of and are not aware of past history. The one very intriguing aspect of this is that there had not been anyone who has moved from Pennsylvania to Glowienka,Poland with the Guzik name except for my father and his family.
You have asked me if you can pass on my e-mail to your cousin. Please feel free to do so and please allow yourself to be identified by more than Sherry because I would like to know a bit more with whom I am corresponding. I would also ask you to use my e-mail address for future correspondance instead of the Ancestry.com general address because if there are some things to be discussed or exchanged I would prefer to be more discrete and I assume you would too. This exchange is interesting, and since I've mentioned this to my brother, we would be more than happy to find out if there is any possibility of Guzik blodlines.
Lookig forward to hearing from you.
Cheers, Adam

Hi Adam,

I recognize the GUZIK surname and also the village of GLOWIENKA. My maternal grandparents, JOSEF KUBIT and MARY MOSKAL, are from the villages of SUCHODOL and BIALOBRZEGI in KROSNO, POLAND. My grandfather JOSEF KUBIT's family has roots in the village of GLOWIENKA, and I have seen the GUZIK surname connected in several birth records as godparents in the KUBIT family. If my memory serves me correctly, I have also seen the GUZIK name connected to the KUBIT name in some immigration records.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to e-mail me directly at David1Law@aol.com (the "1" is a "one").
