I would like to locate family of J Raymond Guye, born 1894 in Illinois, and died 1994 in California. He may have been from the Marion, Williamson County, Illinois area, which is where his mother lived at one time.

I think this Raymond Guye may be my Father-in-laws uncle. He is the son of Ralph Guye, Raymond's brother. If you need more info I can get you "Guye's" together.

J. Raymond GUYE married my aunt, Effie Stitt Beasley, on August 17, 1934, in California. In a journal, my grandfather noted that Uncle Raymond visited his mother near Marion, in Williamson County. Uncle Raymond died in Stockton, San Joaquin, California January 1, 1994, at age 99.
I am interested in learning more about his family history.
Thank you.
Jane

Phil,
I can give you any information about Raymond Guye that you need. He is my great-great-great uncle. My grandfather (Raymond's sister's son) is still alive and was very close to him.

Kris, I was trying to locate any family of Raymond Guye, who was my uncle. After obtaining a copy of his death certificate, I did finally locate some of his family in Illinois. Any additional information would be most welcome.

Jane,
You may already know what information I can provide. Why don't you email me privately at krisg@mchsi.com. That will make it much easier to exchange information. I am interested in seeing what information you have as well. My grandfather is still allive and he remembers quite a bit about his family. My grandfather is Raymond's brother's son.

GUYE is a family name you find frequently in France in the Franche-Comte area (east of France). I have GUYE's in my own line.
If I can be of any help...
Best regards.

I'm a GUYE. My family is from Neuchatel, Switzerland. My grandfather's name is Raymond. I know that my last name was originally GUY but was changed to GUYE somewhere along the way because of a family rift.

My grandfather came to America in his twenties in the 1940's.

I never knew that GUYE was such a popular surname. I thought my family was unique.
