Thomas Guy was from Tamworth in Staffordhire, but moved to London, where he became a wealthy bookseller. He left no descendants, and his fortune was left to family & friends, including a man named Mouseley of Tamworth. According to a family story the Pearces were supposedly connected to the Mouseley/Moseley family, but as yet I cannot find the link. Any information gratefully received.

Thank you for your information. I guess I'll have to recheck my family sources. The facts I have say that Sir Thomas Guy had a son, Thomas, who had a daughter, Judith, who married William Divine. They had a daughter, Margaret Guy Divine, who married James Hunter from whom I'm descended. In every generation until mine there was someone with the name Guy or Thomas Guy - the last being Thomas Guy Hunter, Jr., my late uncle.

Any information about Thomas Guy would be welcome. The name has been used in my family for several generations, including my grandfather and uncle. Other sources have said Thomas died without issue, and I've wondered if the name was used in honor, as you might name a child George Washington. THank you for any help..

Surnames: Guy. Bowles, Eastaugh, Ayliffe, Darby
Thomas Guy had a brother and a sister, named John and Ann. Thomas had no issue.
Thomas's mother remarried after her husband died, on June 18th 1661 to a Mr. Joseph Seeley of Coventry.Thomas Guy’s mother, who’s maiden name was Ann Vaughton was the daughter of William Vaughton of Tamworth, a very influential family, members of which for generations had become bailiffs, burgesses and church wardens to the ancient borough of Tamworth.
On 16th November 1667, the marriage of John Varnam and Ann Guy, Thomas’s sister was recorded.
This Guy family have been Masons quite some time, if that helps at all ?
I have a 14 page file which I compiled with info if you are interested I will send it. You should probably be on high speed so you can receive it, becuase its a large file with pictures etc.
Thoma's Brother was supposedly my 6 times great grandfather. Making Thomas Guy my 6 times great Uncle. We have the Thomas Guy name in the family , even to this day.
John had a son named Charles who begat Samuel who begat Joseph who begat Thomas Johnathon who begat Robert ( my great grand father).
I have marraiges etc of these men but nothing other then family notes stating that Charles was the son of Thomas Guys brother but no proof. If any one has further information I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Elaine
