After my mother's death, we found notes on her birth family. She had remained in contact with one sister. My great grandfather was John James Guy (m.Martha Aserlene Meggs). The notes name Delia, Maryetta (my mother's birth mother), and a half-brother Hillard. Maryetta was born and buried in Navarro Co, TX. Any information on the descendents of John Jamees Guy would be appreciated. I have some information also on my mother's birth siblings. seamom@intcomm.net

Classification: Birth
Surnames: Guy
My great grandfather was John "Jack" Guy (7/10/1860-9/29/1892). He worked on ranches and farms in Montana, primarily near the Musselshell River (also known as the Assiniboine River Valley), a tributary of the upper Missouri River, north of the Yellowstone. He married my great grandmother, Margaret Danford 2/22/1886 and they worked the Danford family ranch outside of Billings, Montana until his death in a cattle stampede in 1892. He had just volunteered for the Army in the Spanish American War. I have no census or other data on his birth and he may have wanted to hide it. We have no information on his birth although he said he was from Iowa. I would appreciate any info you may have on any Guy family connections in the Midwest during the 1800s.
