Hi Jason, I saw your message and thought I would reply. My Grandfather's name was Stanislaus Gut. He was born on May 8, 1896 and died July 14, 1977. I never new him because he and my grandmother were divorced when my dad was 7 years old. I met him one time when she died. As I understand it, he was born in Poland and came to the USA as a teenager. He lived in Philidelphia most of his life. My Dad's name is Thomas J. Gutt (added a t, not sure why). He has lived in Oklahoma since 1945. Not many of us Gut's out there. Would love to hear from you.

Being a first generation American I can strongly say that the all Guts share a connection with Poland. My parents are from Southeastern Poland (Rzeszow). Through basic research I found we are spread across the world. If you're interested, let's work togehter to uncover the roots of this Germanic surname.

Common ancestor??

Hi Susan,
I just responded to Jason's message. My parents are from Poland. My mom's uncle (I think his name was Jakub) came to the U.S. as a young adult. Setteled down in the Detroit area I believe. That side of the family I know for certain changed the spelling of their last name to GUTT as opposed to GUT- probably due to the mispronunciation. If you ever go to Ellis Island you will see that there are Gut's in Detroit. They are my relatives but I really do not know them.

Jason,

Wonderful, I'm quite excited in this proposed joint effort to trace our family roots. We can start, I believe, by getting to know some details about eachother. You can email me at krysiu@hotmail.com to make information private as opposed to posting all on this board. Please advise as to the best way of contacting you. This way I can elaborate on what I know so far.
Cheers!

Hi
I am a native of Switzerland. My Grandfather's name was Otto Gut. We have done his Genealogie back to the year 1475. Do you know anyone who could be related to him?
Regards
Ron
