Probably not much help but I'm part of a GUSE clan whose earliest ancestor was Albert Guse who immigrated from Germany to a place near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada in 1880's.
Four generations of Guse's are still mostly located near Sudbury.

thank you for posting.

1880's would have been around the same period my family came through and immigrated into america.

not sure if we are part of the same clan or not.

My wife is also a part of this family. We found that Albert came from Rambin. He came from Gross Rambin, our ancestor lived near Klein Rambin. We know they are related by DNA testing that prove they share a common source. (see Family Tree DNA). Recently found passengers from Rambin, namely:
GUSE C 16 M 6 Jul 1888 RAMBIN
GUSE E 11 F 6 Jul 1888 RAMBIN
GUSE J 54 M 6 Jul 1888 RAMBIN
GUSE W 23 F 6 Jul 1888 RAMBIN
Arrival at Castle Gardens, NY. (see www.castlegarden.org )

One Guse family in NE arrived Jun 1884 in NY (see castlegarden.org).
Later, in Thayer co. 1900 census were:
. John and Katie, parents
. Gustaf, Agusta, Herman, Fred, Lina, Henry and John.

Gustav appears later in Lincoln with kids Rex and Leona. This family is probably yours.

Hi,
I recently purchase a large old frame at a thrift store and after taking it home, found out it had several old pictures behind the top one. The last is a chalk portrait of a young boy. On the back it says "Harry Guse, died 11 years of age" It is quite old, I'm guessing from the early 1900's. I would love to return this to the family. Any one know of Harry? He needs to find his home. Thank you. Email me at lori.weeks@scott.kyschools.us if you have any ideas! Thank you.

Thanks Joni. I hope someone will find out his rightful owner. I do family history of my own and would know that he needs to be returned to his family. Thanks for any help you can provide.
