Thanks for the info. I don't think I've seen this one before. I looked through my Gurganus's and found 3 different early Francis's, but this one seems to be a 4th. The birth and death dates don't come anywhere close to the other 3 Francis's.

The closest is a Francis who I have as born about 1725 (a guess), living in Pitt in 1764 (found in the tax list), and died after 1787, based on a deed witnessed then.

Maybe this calls for a trip to Barbados. :)
