Hello Pavel: I don't have any relatives with the Peregoud surname. My Gurba relatives are from southeastern Poland: Lublin/Gorlice/Ropica Polksa/Bystra
I looked up your name in the Polish Surnames book by William Hoffman and there was nothing close to it. Sorry I couldn't help you more. Good luck with your research.
Thanks Norma

thanks

HI PAVEL:
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR RESEARCH ON YOUR SURNAME OR GURBA OR BOTH? YOU COULD TRY SOME POLISH GENEALOGY SITES: POLAND-ROOTS-L-@rootsweb.com and PolandBorderSurnames -L@rootsweb.com. These sites have great Polish genealogical information and you can check out Polish web sites.Have you checked with the LDS-Mormon library in your area? You could also try the new Ellis Island immigration-records site www.ellisislandrecords.org. Hope this helps you. I've been very lucky with my research and found second cousins in Poland. What else do you know about your Gurba side of the family?
Good luck - Norma

Surnames: GORBA,HOLLMANN,BODENSCHATZ, and NELSON (SWEDEN)
Hi,
My grandfathers' baptismal certificate was found in east-
prussia ( by a German researcher ) in Jedwabno, Poland;
formerly the German-Polish border. His name was Friedrich
Wilhelm Gorba geboren 1870 ; son of Mike Gorba and Anen
Jeske. He sent me a list of names and told me Gorba was
formerly Gurba.
Do you have any of these names in your family?
My grandfather married Wilhelmina Henrietta Hollmann in
Cambria County, Pa. in 1895. She was born in Troflinden,
Germany in 1874.
They came to America in 1893 and 1894 from Gelsenkirchen,
in Nordrhein-Westfalen area; along with her mother Henrietta
Wilhelmina Hollmann and her sister Bertha (Hollmann)Nelson,
husband Alfred Nelson and their son Fred Alfred Nelson.
Mike Gorba and his daughter Charlotte (who married Julius
Bodenschatz) then moved to Va. or W.Va. I am searching
for Mike Gorbas' burial place and information on all persons
mentioned above.
Some people who traveled with them returned to Germany.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Norma, I do hope you are still here. I can see you posts a few years old. I'm Gurba as well. I've just started to search for some relatives around the world. My father's line comes from Grybow from Poland which is near Gorlice. I am going to check the websites you left here. Can you tel me who you found in Pl? thanks. Jo
