I am trying to research my father's mother's side of the family. His grandfather was Wallace Coggins and from the information I can find, Wallace's mother was Clarissa Guptill and her father was Benjamin Guptill. They were from Maine. Any additional information on these Guptills would be appreciated.

Ann: The Benjamin Guptill I found would have been born earlier than 1802 since his daughter was born in 1803. But do you have any information on a Clarrissa Guptill? I have two internet sources that had a Clarrissa Guptill born in 1803 in Lubec, Washington, Maine and another born around 1799 in East, Trenton, Hancock, Maine. What I find confusing is that while one computer source states that my greatgrandfather Wallace Coggins' parents were Ansel Coggins and Clarrissa Guptill, when I look up Clarrissa Guptill, there are all sorts of children listed but not Wallace and the dates just don't match (birth, marriage dates). Wallace Coggns was born in 1815. Any help? Thanks

My maternal ancestor's are of the Coggins line. You had asked about Ansel Coggins: he was the brother of my third Great Grandfather; he married Clarisa Guptill. If you still need help with this line, let me know. I will be happy to share with you what information I have; maybe you could fill me in on a few bits of information, also. My e-mail is maryutschig@yahoo.com. Sincerely, Mary

Surnames: Hallett, Guptill, Coggins, Clark, Moore, Godfrey
Amazing I have just received information in my family that shows
Edward T Hallett (b1816 Lubec, ME) married Eliza Coggins (b1842 Lubec ME)
Eliza Coggins was the daughter of Benjamin Coggins and Eliza Guptill

Surnames: Clark, Hallet, Guptill, Godfrey
In addition to my previous note, I show that Edward's brother Benjamin C Hallett married Mary Elizabeth Clark the daughter of John Clark and Philotia Guptill.
