I do not think that there is a direct connection. I am finding out that my family came from Sutherland and emmigrated to Ontario and that many of the Gunn's of Caithness went to Nova Scotia. Along the way, I learned that some of the Gunns who were cleared from the Sutherland Estates early in the process went to the area near Wick.
However, I will keep looking for connections and post any thing that I find.
