I'm looking for information on Christopher J. Gundelfinger who lived in Cole County, Missouri (Jefferson City) in the late 1800's. I'm looking specifically for information about the circumstances surrounding his death. He died around 1887.

Thanks,
Martha Gundelfinger Moroney

I saw the messages for Christopher Gundelfinger. I am a descendant of his brother, Wilhelm. The story in our family is that 7 brothers came from Bavaria in the 1850's and settled in Missouri. I am trying to learn what happened to the other brothers. Please contact me by E-mail.

In My grandfather's bible (Thomas Christopher Gundelfinger) it lists C.J Gundelfinger Birth; May 4,1849, City of Jefferson, Cole County Mo.
and
Kate Fuchler(not sure of this spelling) Dunscomb Birth: 23 June, 1850
and;
lists their children, names and birthdates.
Looks like 10, 3 sisters dying as infants. I can give you this information if you do not have it. I will probably have to find a scanner and get it to you this way so that you can interpret the writing.

Do you know where in Bavaria they came from? My gggg-grandmother Regina GUNDELFINGER Gugenheimer came to Regensberg, Bavaria from the Krumbach-Huerben area of Swabia. According to the Regensburg records she was born February 20, 1784 in Kleinnordlingen, she died December 25, 1858 London, England
This family was Jewish.See this page on my website which includes a photo of her portrait:

My g-grandfather was Andrew Gundelfinger (b.~1865 Jefferson City, Missouri). Is it possible he was the son of one of the 7 brothers from Bavaria? We don't know his parents names -1 possibility is Andrew and Elizabeth (nee. Walther) Gundelfinger. Thanks!

There are several Andrew Gundelfingers born in Missouri in the 1850's and 1860's. They are sons of the original 7 brothers who came from Germany to Missouri. I shall look through records to see which Andrew was born about 1865. Andreas (Andrew) and Elizabeth Walther were brother and sister in law to my great grandfather, Wilhelm.

Nan- I believe you have a Ralph Dearstyne who was married to Ida Fowler. This couple are listed as witnesses to my fiance's great grandparents' marriage in NY in 1883. I'd like to get in contact with you to find out if you have any other info on the Dearstyne family.
thank you in advance.

This may not be relevant, as the information I have is from the 19th century.

The Gundelfinger family is indeed Jewish in origin. There was a branch of the family that lived in Ulm (Germany) and escaped to the USA at the very last minute in 1939. Please contact me privately for more information.
