Harold F. Gundel, 84, of Upper St. Clair, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008. He was born June 26, 1923, in Altoona to the late Frederick M. and Anna V. (Musser) Gundel and also was predeceased by sister Helen Campbell and brothers Ralph and Fred Gundel. Mr. Gundel was a 1943 graduate of Penn State University, a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran who was a pilot and received the Bronze Service Star. and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and responsible for the committee on public relations. Harold was an electrical engineer with Bell Telephone, a member of the Pioneer Club and an Eagle Scout who obtained 21 merit badges. He was a volunteer at Kane Regional, Scott, a "Grandfriends" reader for kindergarten through third grade at Bower Hill Elementary School in the Peters Township School District and a certified flight instrument rated instructor at ATC Flight Training Center, Squirrel Hill. Former husband of Helen Haring Boast. Father of Debra Lee (Rich) Diller and Jeannie (Michael) DeCanditis, all of New Mexico. Grandfather of Kimberly, Ashley and Ryan Diller. Uncle of Doug Campbell. A memorial service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Westminster Presbyterian Church chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harold's memory
