I am trying to trace details of my gg grandfather Guillaume (William ) Charles Guichard.
The family story is that his family came to England to avoid the french revolution. This was late 18th /early 19th century.
He married Ann Wright ( I can't find where or when) but they lived in Aldersgate E.London and had their children there:-

Sophia Mathilda born 1838
Eliza Ann * ' 1840 * my g grandmother
William Charles 1843?
Louisa mary 1846
Emma 1850
Peter Henry 1853
Can anyone help me in regard to this Guichard family?
Has anyone else got a London Guichard in their family tree?

Would love to hear from you.

Marion

Marion,
While searching "Guichard" in "newspaperarchive.com" the NewYork Times on Monday, April 29, 1901 mentions an Henri Guichard. You may want to look into this. Bonne chance!

I was very excited to read your message as I think this Charles Guichard you mention may be connected to me.
Could you possibly forward all or any details you may have of him. I have other information on him.

Thank you

For Marion Milton

I do not have much information about C. Guichard, and hope that you have more. (I am not a relative of his, but am interested in English musical history in the early 1800s.) Guichard had a music shop at 100 New Bond Street, London in 1816 and apparently he later became organist of the Portuguese Embassy Chapel in London.
What information do you have about him?
