My husband's maternal grandmother was Eda Guhl, who came from Germany with her parents. She was born 1865. As far back as I know, is that they settled around New Buffalo, MI area. Is there any connections?
Thanks, Deb

Reply to Deb: I will copy and post into my files. When we get to the actual site in Eastern Wisconsin,I will see if this name fits. It would appear that they came down through Michigan, so some of the children could have stayed there awhile. By the way another spelling is Guell with two dots over the u or leave out the e (Gull) and the u with the two dots. This I found out in the German Research Library at Concordia College in St. Paul, MN. I do not believe it was used as Gould... nothing leads to that from my research so far. My GGrandmother's name was Elizabeth Guhl. I don't know much about her. She was married to Gustav Weigt. Believe they lived in the Niles Centre area in Illinois. Any connection?

I do not know enough yet. I need to check some of the Sheboygan Census data we got with dates and see if there is a connect here Bills grandmother was Annette C. Guhl her siblings were Fred P Guhl (he did marry, and believe some of his girls married Johnson , Helen Guhl Loertscher. (she had a son who died without issue, and a daughter Bonnie May whom we know nothing) and Carrie Guhl (nothing known) There parents Fred? Guhl and Madgelena Esser lived in Sheboygan ..it appears that Fred had brothers and sisters and maybe parents here too. I have been writing down the data in Germans to America, but have not finished filling in all the blanks and connecting manefest numbers to get families together. There were about 70+ in these Volumes. Please e-mail me in private to exchange address etc.

I'm looking for information on the Guhl family in Milwaukee. The only info I have is that Johann G. Guhl m. Marie Graf in Mecklenberg. Their daughter Fredricka S.E. Guhl, b. in Mecklenberg, m. Carl Frederick A. Dettman in Milwaukee May 5, 1861. Was wondering if some part of this same family settled in Sheboygan.

My GGrandfather might have been Fred's sibling. His name is Arthur Guhl. He was born in the late 1800's, and died in 1967.

My father immigrated from Germany at the turn of the century, about 1910. He spent some time with an Uncle Carl Guhl in Pestigo. Uncle Carl never married. He owned a bar and also was apotato farmer. He immigrated from the Mecklenburg area.
