It just dawned on me, why not post descendants of my Regina Catherine Guggenhime, b. May/1829/Bern Switzerland. Maybe someone with one of these surnames will find a link?? They are, Wetzler, Pletsch, Patterson, Christmas, Holt, Matthews, O'connor, Cote, Coffin, Wingert, Bacon, Cohen, Clark and of course me, I'm a Maize. Hope someone with one of these surnames will read this and resspond-!!!! Thanks, Toni Maize

I know this is a very late reply (4 years), but she could be one of Mayer Guggenheim's lost sisters. Mayer Guggenheim came to America (Philadelphia) in 1847 with his 5 Guggenheim sisters, but their names have been lost to time. Nobody, not even the Guggenheim's, seem to know what the 5 sister's names were or what happened to them.

Best thing to do is start a Family tree at Ancestry.com with your female Guggenheim ancestor as the starting point. This would be very helpful to a lot of researchers.

Thanks for your reply! I've tried for years to locate info on my 3rd Great Grandmother as sister or possibly daughter to Mayer Guggenheim with no luck at all. This family sure didn't care about recording female info as there is so little. I do have a tree in Anc.com as do a couple of other descendants of Catherine Guggenehim Wetzler & her husband David Jacob. Sorry to say I can't remember tree name right this min but it would be real easy to locate, just do a tree search for David Jacob Wetzler and you'll locate it. Thanks again! Toni Maize

I'm so glad you saw my reply so quickly, I may have to try posting some of the info I'm having trouble finding.

I found your family tree at Ancestry.com, but since I'm currently using a free account, it won't let me see anything, but I did find another family tree at Roots.com (World Connect project) with her in it. They seem to have most of her decendancy posted in the family tree file called "Wheelwright/Blount/Crawford Database" and the contact person is Dave Greenberg.

She's not one of Meyers children (my family is very closely related to theirs, so I have all of his family in my tree), but she's just about the perfect age to be one of his five sisters who came with him and his father Simon to Philly in 1848. I haven't added her to my tree yet, but I'm definitely going to keep her in mind as I do more research.

The link to Rootsweb.com is in the drop down list at the bottom of the page. All I did was search for David Wetzler there and I found her right away. If you haven't done it already, you should download a GED file of your tree and then re-upload it to the World Connect project database. That make it more available for researchers and it adds a few nice features that Ancestry.com doesn't offer. I've not tried uploading the GED file at Rootsweb.com, so I don't know how difficult that would be, but it is easy to do at another Generations Network site called "Myfamily.com"

Good luck!

Thanks for this reply to my posting! Wish I could write that there were a link to the Mayer Guggenheim line BUT my research on this just didn't show me a positive link. Dates, places & etc. Thanks again! Toni Maize
