7 Brennan sisters emigrated to the usa after the famine I think. GUGGENHEUM, ANDERSON and DELANEY are three names associated with the above through Marriage.
Originally from GRAIGUECULLEN, CARLOW, IRELAND.

I am descended from Joseph Abraham Guggenheim born in Endingen, Switzerland in 1742. Does your family have connections to this family? Is it "Guggenheum" or "Guggenheim"?

Nancy -
I am descended from Samuel Gug(g)enheim born c. 1810 in Endigen. Do you or others have any information online that may be helpful to me in tracing further back - or sideways - I imagine we have a connection of some sort. I haven't done a lot of formal research yet, but am interested and have quite a bit of family information.

Dear (Paul?),

Yes, I believe we are indeed related. I have five Samuel Guggenheims tracked on the tree:

Samuel Guggenheim b. in Oberendingen in 1769
Samuel Guggenheim m. Voegli Braunschweig (child: Sara born in 1831)
Samuel Josef Guggenheim b. in 1805
Samuel Jakob Guggenheim b. in Oberendingen in 1860
Samuel Guggenheim b. in Oberendingen in 1875

I have most of the information tracing from the "original" ancestor, Josef Abraham Guggenheim who was born in (you guessed it!) Oberendingen.

I'd be happy to exchange information with you.

(3rd great-grand niece of Josef's wife Pessel Josefa)

Dear Nancy,

I don't have either person listed on my section of the tree, but given that they are in Endingen, I have to believe that they are cousins somehow. I know that Jews were restricted to certain areas, even if those areas weren't what we have come to associate with ghettos. There was, I believe, one cemetary in Endingen or Oberendingen where most of the Jews were buried.

I just found this post (3 years late!) on the web:

http://www.noevalleyvoice.com/1998/April/letters.html

I'm going to write to them and see what kind of information we might be able to obtain.

This is wonderful! Thanks so much Nancy. I'm new to this and am not sure how we exchange information. Shall I send you my information to your email address? Oh - it's Pat as in Patricia!
