If you google Pranas Gudmanas you get several links. One says he was born in Kasankos 1/8 OR 1/9/1924 and was living in Vilkeliskiu in 1940. From my knowledge of history I wonder if he was not in the German Army and came here as a POW and then stayed. Quite a few did and there would be records. Hope these oddments help.

Would this be Pranas Gudmanas born 01 Aug 1924 (location unknown) and died 1998 in Hackney London.
Married Patricia Lavinia Glendenning 1953 in Stepney London.
Had a son David Pranas Gudmanas born 1954 in Stepney London.
These are coming up in research on my family tree.

Only a suggestion but this name sounds very Lithuanian to me - Lithuanian Jews coming to London to escape pogroms when at least part of Lithuania was part of the Russian Empire?
