Very Similar Name: Gudauski
According to my aunt's notation in her son's baby book, My great grandmother was Barbara GUDAUSKI. It is likely that her name was GUDAUSKAS, knowing how names changed between Lithuania and USA. What is unique about her was that she was married three times. Her husbands' surnames were SHLEPOWICZ, GERAITIS, and NAVICKIS. I think my grandfather, Simon SHLEPOWICZ (spelled numerous ways) was her first born in c1873. He received a certificate of rank of nobleman on 21 Sep 1890. He emigrated to the USA sometime after that. I do not know if Barbara emigrated, but great grandsons of each surname live in the USA. I dont know anything more. Please respond with any information you might have.

Ona, I don't know if Barbara GUDAUSKAS emigrated. I know that at least two sons of hers did. One was my grandfather, Simon SHLEPOWICZ (1873-1955), in 1888. The other was his half-brother, Leonas NAVICKIS (1883-1952), in 1908. My grandfather paid his way to the USA. There may be a third. A Frank SHLEPOWICZ was listed in my grandfather's obit as a nephew, son of a unknown brother. I am in contact with Leonas' son who we call "Little Leo." He lives in Chicago and does not have a computer. I live in Arizona. Little Leo has been to Lithuania and is planning another genealogical trip. He is hoping to find the SHLEOPWICZ farm, which Barbara inherited upon my great-grandfather's death. One source says his given name was Ignatius, my grandfathers middle name. Gene
