I'm sending this because the names are similar and it was common to Polandize Lithuanian names in the late 1800's, especially among the nobility.

My great grandmother was Barbara Gudauski. She married by great grandfather, Simon Ignatius Shlepowicz in Lithuania. (Alternate spellings are Szlepawicze, Slepavicia, and Szlepawicze.) Barbara later married a Giraitis and then a Navickis. My grandfather Simon Ignatius Shlepowicz (same name as his father)emigrated to the USA sometime before 1900.

Now you know as much as I know. I would appreciate any help to learn more.

I do not know why i had even looked at this sight, nor had i expected to see anything familiar.... Unless there is a major coincidence with the names i believe that there is a possibility that charles is the father of my father charles gudaitis in pa.......I would be slightly confused being that i was told there were no longer any family on my fathers side still living......
