Surnames: Guagenti
I am trying to find some information on my part of the Guagenti family in Italy. My Grandfather is Salvatore Guagenti. Salvatore came over from Italy with his parents when he was 6 months old in 1921. His parents are Antonio Guagenti and Rosa Bivona. Antonio was born in 1890 and passed away in 1970 whereas Rosa was born in 1902 and passed away in 1991. I am trying to find information on Antonio and Rosa, specifically any siblings they had and then subsequently spouses and children.

Here is what I know on Antonio. Antonio lists his birth place as Bolognetta, Scily, Italy. Also, my grandfather Salvatore was born in Bolognetta. Antonio's parents were Salvatore Guagenti and Maria Montabalno (not sure on her last name spelling). Antonio and his wife Rosa settled in Brooklyn and lived there for the remaining part of their lives.

Antonio has brothers named Frank, Joseph, and Vincent and two sisters, Rosalie and Concetta. I have no confirmation of these brothers and sisters meaning I was just given the names but I have no documents to tie them together.

On Rosa Bivona, here is what I know on her. She had 3 sisters and one brother. I do not know their names, but supposedly some of them ended up in New York as well. I just do not have much information on her at all.

My great Grandfather is Frank Guagenti, they lived in Benton Harbor Michigan and Frank had a sister who my grandmother was suppose to be named after. My grandmothers name is Santa Rose, so Rosalie or Rosa might be true. I have been looking for a sister named Santa and I believe it is Rose instead.

@Dolphinschild: I wish I could tell you that this is the the Guagenti's I am looking for but at this point I cannot. I hope to crack the nut on this really soon and fill in some information. I plan to hire someone to help me look. If you come across more information that seems to match with mine, let me know and if I come across more information that seems to match with yours, I will reply here. One of the things that I would like to do is fill in the gaps of who is actually alive family wise and hopefully those relatives share the same enthusiasm about meeting me as I do about meeting them and we can share some stories. Whether this is or not the Guagenti's I am looking for, best of luck to you in your search.

Hi Tracy. The simple answer is I have no idea about your question. There are so many Salvatore Guagenti's out there. Not to mention that if this was some sort of family secret, I might not know. Here is what I can tell you. I know of 2 Salvatore Guagenti's here in the USA related to me. I know of no Margaret though. I would be happy to help you as much as I could, but I would need more information. Since this is a sensitive subject, if you want to take it out of the message forum that is ok with me. You can private message me through this board and we can go from there. One thing I have learned is never say never about anything because you just never know what skeletons are hiding in the closet.
