Luana - I was very surprised to get your e-mail; I had posted my inquiry about 2 years ago, and had just about forgotten about it.
I am definitely starting from scratch! Gregorz Grzybowski was my paternal grandfather, who died when my own father was about 4 years old, sometime back in the 1920's. I have no other info, other than he settled here in the Detroit area; all my uncles and aunts (and my father) are deceased, so there's no one to ask; I was just seeing if there was anything out there -- I don't even know where to start!
I have only found Gregorz Grzybowski on the Ellis Island site, and it lists a Joseph along with him; I don't even know if he had a brother, much less anyone else.
As far as Pogorzelski, that's my married name; my father-in-law, Arthur, just passed away 3 mos ago, right before Christmas at the age of 74. His father's name was Stanley, and they lived on the east side of Detroit. I know that Stan Jr is very interested in finding out anything he can. I think I have a copy of my husband's grandfather's baptismal certificate, but of course, I can't read Polish. I wish I could be of more help!
