Frances D. Shilinski

Frances D. Shilinski, formerly of North Empire Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA, died Wednesday at Summit Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

She was born May 29, 1915, in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late George and Kordula Grziebieniewski Bawiec, and attended Custer Street School and St. Mary's Polish School, Wilkes-Barre.

Mrs. Shilinski had been employed in the area garment industry for many years by Clover Dress Co. and Lorrie Lee Fashions, both of Wilkes-Barre.

She was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union, Wilkes-Barre, and St. Mary's Church of the Maternity, Wilkes-Barre.

Her husband, Albert, died Sept. 16, 1974; daughter, Alberta Shilinski Pallis, died April 1987. Brothers, Stanley, John, Walter, Joseph and Edward, and sisters, Mary Grula and Josephine Geskey, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Hosage, Mountain Top; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Stella Boris, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 from Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Mary's Church of the Maternity, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday, 4 to 8.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Activities Department, Summit Health Care Center, 50 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, or a children's charity of the donor's choice.
