Edward S. Grygier,
Edward S. Grygier, age 85,
a resident of Parkside North East,Erie,county,pa,
and formerly of Kimberly Drive in Millcreek,pa,
died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. Born in Erie on September 17, 1924, he was a son of the late John R. and Julia (Walczak) Grygier.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army, and circumnavigated the world by boat and train. Before retiring in 1989,
he was a machinist at Erie General Electric.
He was a member and usher at Saint George Catholic Church, and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Ed was a coin and stamp collector,
and enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, and playing bingo.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Borowy Grygier in 1989, a son, Edward Robert Grygier,
and two brothers, Arthur Grygier.

Survivors include a daughter, Cyndi McMillen and her husband Charles, of North East, Pa.;
a sister, Eleanor Norfolk, of Erie;PA,
five grandchildren, Dr. Colin McMillen, wife Laura, of Liberty, S.C.,
Jennifer Palmer, husband Philip, of Erie,PA,
Melissa Richardson, husband Walter,
Jason Grygier, fiancee Jennifer Hammill,
and Jessica Grygier, fiancee Greg Didion, all of North East;PA,
ten great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and may attend services there Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint George Church at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences at:
