Josephine Anna Grygier Josephine Anna Grygier, 84, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, following a short illness. Josephine was born in Erie
to the late Chief County Detective
George J. and Margaret (Wagner) Wochner.
She graduated from Academy High School and attempted a career with the FBI but it was cut short due to circumstances beyond her control.
She worked at the restaurant at the Boston Store for a time, and then General Telephone until 1951,
and the birth of her son, when she decided to stay home and be a full-time mother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music, discussing politics and was a World War II buff.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Robert J. Grygier,
as well as her two brothers, George and Robert Wochner. Josephine is survived by her three sons, Robert Grygier, and his wife Diane, of Newark, Del.;
David Grygier, and his wife Susan, of Lenox, Mass.;
and James Grygier, and his wife Lisa, of Erie, Pa.;
four grandchildren, Eric, Evan, Erin and Alaina,
and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street, Saturday, January 17th from 11 until the time of a service at 12 Noon with Msgr. Gerald Koos. Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Autism Society, 1128 State Street, Erie, PA 16501. Condolences at www.bruggerfuneralhomes.com
