Hi! I am a Grych, but my family is from Detroit, Mich. My grandparents (Stanislaus and Victoria Grych) immigrated from Poland. I am just beginning to try and trace my family ancestry and have come up blank so far, but I am VERY new at this and really haven't gotten started. In reading about some of the Texas Grych's I found it odd that you also have a Stanislaus Grych who must have been close in age to my grandfather, though I believe my grandfather was older. My father is deceased and his family mostly ignored us after his death in 1970, so I don't have a living source of some info. I feel we must be related somehow, because this in NOT a common name in the US! If you have ever found any info of Grych's in Detroit, I would be glad to have any info! Also, if your ancestors are from Poland, do you know where?

Surnames: Grych changed to Gregg
I have a Stanislaus Grych in my family too. He's my great great grandfather and from Poland. I have that he died in 1924 and is buried in Killaloe, Ontario Canada. He married Stanislawa August before 1885 and their children are John (or Jean or jack), Marianne (or Mary), Louisa (or Lizzie), Joseph, Annie (or Anna), Thomas Alexander, Frank and Ludoricus Nicolas Grych (my great grandfather). I've been told that in the early 1900's Grych was changed to Gregg and my great grandfather was known as Louis Nicolas Gregg. He married Steffie Anne Simon from Poland and had 2 children. Lawrence Stephen Louis (mt grandfather), and Claude.

Please let me know if any of this rings any bells.

Hello. I am a Grych. From what I understand is that my grandfather came to American and re-married then moved to Wisconsin. My Mom has some information, but not enough to find some of these relatives.
