EVA GRUBBS CHANDLER

WALKERTOWN - Mrs. Eva Grubbs Chandler, 100, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born Jan. 8, 1902, in Forsyth County,NC to John Thomas and Annie Young Grubbs. Mrs. Chandler spent most of her life in Winston-Salem and had many friends who include Nell Vestal, Susan Boran and Lucille Cheek. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Chandler, in 1953. Survivors include her sister, Lucille G. Waggoner and husband Harry of Walkertown; two sisters-in-law, Lil Grubbs of Dallas, Ore., and Gladys Grubbs of Walnut Cove and a niece, Mary Ann Cook and husband Stan of Newport, Ore. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
