Searching for information on George Washington Grubbs, born 1845 in PA or OH. Mother was Jane Graham (Brown) and father is unknown. George married Catherine Ann Knepshield of Armstrong Co., PA . Eventually moved to Allegheny Co., PA and lived for awhile in Calhoun Co., WV. George served in the Civil War and was taken prisoner in NC. Held in Andersonville Prison for several months. The youngest daughter of George and Catherine Grubbs was my Great-Grandmother, Frances Elizabeth Grubbs Woleslagle of Westmoreland/Allegheny Co., PA. I am searching for any information on this family, ancestors or descendents.
