Re: Grubb Family, Herefordshire, England
Hello Dennis, there were a family of "Grubb" brickmakers from Plumstead, however they were not of Herefordshire descent, so I cannot help you with further information. The "Grubb Family Association" historian will be able to provide help with this family of Grubbs as I understand they have been fairly extensively researched. Regards, Joe Grubb.

Re: Grubb Family, Herefordshire, England
I am trying to put together a family tree. My grandfather is Cecil James Grubb born on the 31st July in Worcester, in I think 1923. I would like to know a little more about his siblings and parents (Farmers in Worcester), Grand parents (John James Grubb - date of birth not known. Profession carpenter) If you can help I would be extremely grateful. Thanks Cally

Re: Grubb Family, Herefordshire, England
Hi Cally,
Don't have a record for a Cecil James Grubb, but do have a record for a Cecil John Grubb born 1925 at Wichenford, Worcestershire, son of James John Grubb & Maud Amelia (nee Jelf, married in 1924 at Wichenford). He had a sister Audrey born 1928. His mother Maud Amelia died 1930 and his father appears to have married his deceased wife's sister (Desame Gladys Jelf??)in 1932. There were 3 other half siblings, Desmond J. Grubb (1933), Derek G. Grubb (1936) and Jaqueline E. Grubb (1942). This family currently extends back to 1751 with the marriage of John Grubb & Mary Gummy at Little Hereford, Herefordshire. James John was born in 1893 son of John & Emma Grubb. Hope this is of assistance. Please let me know if you need more info. Joe Grubb.

Re: Grubb Family, Herefordshire, England
Hi, I was wondering if you had any information about the marriage between William Grubb and Clara in 1889 Dudley. Do you know who Williams parents were?
Also I was wondering what information you had for Fanny Grubb
Kindest regards
Becki Leighton

Re: Grubb Family, Herefordshire, England
Hello Becki, I am in receipt of your Email to Ken Grubb. William Grubb was baptised on 04/10/1859, at Dilwyn, Herefordshire, the son of William and Mary (Bounds). William Grubb married Fanny Matthews at Dilwyn, Herefordshire, on 15/05/1886. Fanny Grubb appears at Burghill Asylum, age 25, in the 1891 Census. She appears there, age 35, in the 1901 Census. She appears to have died in 13/09/1901, age 35, registered at Hereford. William Grubb appears in the 1891 Census for Staunton on Arrow, as a farm labourer (married, without wife present), age 30. William Grubb appears in the 1901 Census for Brilley, Herefordshire, as a waggoner agricultural horses (married, without wife present), age 40. William Grubb appears to have died on 17/11/1909, age 48, registered at Kington, Herefordshire. I would assume that William Grubb, if he married again, would have done so after his wife's death in 1901. I can find no evidence for a second marriage. William George Grubb was baptised 14/11/1861 at Dilwyn, Herefordshire, the son of Thomas and Jane (Williams). Ken Grubb states that William George Grubb married Clara Darby, registered in the 4th quarter of 1889, ref 8c15, at Dudley. William George and Clara Grubb appear in the 1891 Census for Halstead, Essex. William George and Clara Grubb appear in the 1901 Census for Wells, Norfolk. William George and Clara Grubb appear in the 1911 Census for Wells, Norfolk. I assume that William George Grubb "is your man", as it were. Regards and Best Wishes, Joe Grubb.
