I am seeking information on Casper Grub and Eva Schweitzer who emmigrated from the Palatinate in the 1740s and had 4 children, George Croup, Philip Croup, Jacob Croup, and Mary Croup in Pennsylvania. The family moved to Clarence Center, Erie County, New York, and some on to Michigan.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There are quite a few Casper and Caspar Grub names in the Bucks and Lancaster counties in the period 1750-1820. Check the CD #196. I have been researching that family and it appears that sseveral Grub came over at the same time. Their children were all born in the 1760-1780 period. My ancestor was Jacob Grub, born in 1735. David

David, We also have a Jacob Grub; however, he was born in 1698. Do you have a Casper, Peter, or Philip Grub in Berks County or York Co., PA?? Thank you for any info you can provide. Carol

I saw your message of February 27, 2001 and I have been searching my mother's family for several years and I have been looking for an earlier generation and it may be Casper Grub. My grandfather, Asa Croup, was born in Butler, Pennsylvania. His father was Samuel Croup, (his name on his confirmation certificate that I have was Grub). His father was Abraham Grub born in 1811. That is where I have come to a dead end. I would be glad to share what I have if you think it is a connection.
Thanks, Roger

Dear Roger,
So nice to hear from you. Here's the info that I have:
Casper Grub was born in Germany in 1728, so probably isn't your Casper. Sorry that this doesn't coincide with your info.

In Northampton County,PA, there is a Grub family , not in my line, that has Peter, Phillip and others. I went there a couple years ago thinking they were in my line. A Jacob Grub married an Eliaabeth and had sons with names similar to my ancestors, Jacob Grub and Eliaageth dKoch. It had me puaaled for some time. They were of the same years as my Bucks County family. I don't know about york or other counties.

Andrew Grub of Bucks County
Andrew Grub was born in 1732 and married Maria in 1759 in the Tohickon German Reformed Church in Bucks County;. They had a daughter, Maria Elizabeth, baptized in that church in 1761. I would like information on Andreew's parents and/or descendents.

I am researching a Jacob Grub, born about 1735. He was lmarried to Elizabeth Koch in the Tohickon Union German Reformed Church in Bucks County May 2, 1760. A year earlier, a n Andrew Grub was married in the same church to Masria. I don't know if they were related and I don't knnow where they were born. Do you know the names of trhe children brought by Jacob Grub (1698) when he came in 1738? I am wondering if he might have brought two nephews with him. David Grubbs
