My research indicates that there were several members of the Grover family immigrated from Sandy Bay (now Rockport) Mass in the early 1800's. The name Nehemiah occurs in several generations and it helps if you know wives' names. I am a direct descendant of Elisha Grover father Nehemiah, mother Esther Rowe) who was born ca. 1818, one of several children. They migrated to Gallia, Ohio and Elisha & my great great grandmother Harriet Pettingill were married in Gallia 12/26/1856. They had 3 children,. Harriet Thankful and Mary Ellen both died at a young age, but son Frank survived. I have a Grover genealogy compiled by a Charles Grover from Maryland, who has since died. Also, there is a Grover branch that lived in Vermont. There are7 James Grovers and 6 Joseph Grovers.
