I am looking for information on my ggg-grandfather, Valentine Gross or possible spelled Grofs. My grandfather always said he was from the Black Forest area. He immigrated to Wisconsin but later moved to Sugar Creek Colorado where he died. He married Harriett Forrester. I would like to know if he immigrated to America by himself or if he had siblings or parents with him. I would also like to know exactly where in Germany he came from and what his parents names are. I do know he was not married when he arrived. I realize this is not much information to work with, but if anyone has anything that might be helpful I would appreciate it.
