Hi, my and I family visited the birthplace of my Great Great Grandfather, Ulrich Grogg married to Martha M. Feagins, who departed Switzerland approximately 1864. The township was no more than a group of farm houses in Untersteckholz Switzerland. There is a family chronical of the decendents of Max Grogg held in the City Archives of Luzern. We have not been able to get a copy of it yet but will do so at the first available chance. The city archives in Bern also have emigration records with the original signatures and other personal information on the people who left to the states. There is some sort of connection with the Groggs from this lineage to the Kloster St. Urban. You can look at the web page for the kloster at: www.st-urban.ch
You can contact the Bern Archives at: info.stab@sta.be.ch
They do have english speaking staff there.
I hope I could help some of you! If you write me please enter Grogg as the subject line. I don't open a lot of strange messages!
