I am looking for ANY family memebers of the above named people. I have found family bibles of this family and believe they belong to this family. I am not of Grober decent. According to the entries in these bibles, Sofie was born in Denkendorf Germany on 17-March-1870 died 28-March-1960, Carl Grober was born in Denkendorf , Wuertenberg, Germany on 23-May-1868, son of Jacob and Katherine Groeber. Carl married Sofie Brucker of Denkendorf. Any members of this family, please email me. The bibles are printed in the early 1800's and in the German language, as well as the entries from the family

Stacy,

There is an obituary in the Bible that states Sofia Brucker was married to Carl Friedrich Groeber on October 21, 198?. They had eight children.

Sorry Stacy,
I have a correction to make. The couple was married in 188?. The year is smudged. The Obit, was cut from a local newspaper and said that on 09.08.1941 Carl Groeber dies.. It does state that this couple came to America in 1892, to Mitchell S.D...
This is all that is mentioned of Sofie.

Hi Duvessa,
This is the magic of the internet! My new daughter-in-law is a Max Albin Grober b. abt 1899 in Germany? I have been tracing her ancestors and stumbled on your good news of a
family Bible. Could it be connected? we do not know yet of
his origins in Germany, only that he came to Vancouver BC
about 1930. I hope to reply again if we can connect our Grober to that Bible

Hello, My mothers (father) side of the family were Groeber's and actually also came over from Germany. Casper and Conrad were the sons of Joseph Casper and Luise L (Suelberg) Groeber. Both of the boys were born in Baden, Germany. However, Casper is the one we had some information on. He was born Feb 13, 1826 and died in Warren County, MO, on September 15, 1880. He had received his naturalization papaers in Gasconade County, MO, in September 1863. He married Dominica Schrieber and they had 3 children (Fritz, John and Ida). I feel fairly confident that they are related to those you mentioned in the Bible but was wondering if there is any mention of these individuals to see if they were related either as cousins, etc.

Hi Alexandra,
only today found your message. I have an extensive family
tree of the Canadian side of Max in Chiliwack BC ( not far
from where I live. ) and especially of the STEELE tree.
I am no longer researching this family so would be happy
for you to take over the data.

Cheers, Jim
