Willi,
I was reading the information you sent to Debbi and am very interested in the area of Hemberg and Rehetobel, St. Gallen, Switzerland. My Grandmother was born Anna Katharina Grob 16 Apr 1864 in Rehetobel to Johann Konrad Grob and Anna Elizabeth Kast. Salomea Naf was her grandmother. A friend went to Switzerland in the 1960's and brought back some family history and pictures. I as so interested in my grandmothers family. She was a tiny woman about 4 foot 8 inches tall and I am barely 5 foot. Everyone use to tell me I reminded them of Grandmother Lena as we called her. She died before I was born and I feel I missed out on a wonderful person in my life. If you have any ideas of how I can find out more information please let me know. Thank you Joan Eweg.

Salomea Naf is also in my tree. I am almost 5'1. My grandfather Wilhelm Fredrich was a wonderful man and when he died he was also 4'8.

Hi Joan
Rehetobel is not in Kanton (County) St. Gallen but in Kanton Appenzell Ausserrhoden. Statistics say that the Appenzell People have been more little than the rest of swiss people for hundreds of years. The Nafs (as I am) are very often citizens of Ebnat-Kappel, St. Gallen (www.ebnat-kappel.ch). Salomea is a very untypical name. Anna Katherina was a very popular name in the old times.
