Actually Johannes was the immigrant founder of the Groat family line along the Hudson. Two sons (Gabriel and Henrich) and two daughters (Maria Margaretha and Eva Margaretha)accompanied him to colonial New York, arriving in 1710. Three of these children were born in Germany. It appears Henrich was born probably in Holland or England since he was born about 1710. He and his wife had three additional daughters born in New York (Marytje, Anna Elizabeth, and Barbara). See my web page for further details, though it is hopelessly outdated regarding later generation after about 1850.
