My name is Michael Gritman. I live in Minnesota and have been researching my family tree for a number of years. I believe there is a Uriah Gritman in my family tree. I do not have the documentation I need at my disposal right now to check to make sure. I have information back to 1652 in the US and further in Europe.

Gritman was originally Gutman/Guttman which means "Good Man" or "Great Man". This could explain the Greatman translation.
