I am looking for some information regarding the parents of Alanson Griswold. I have a hit a dead end. Might anyone have any documentation or suggestions on how to gather this documentation I would be much obliged. Here's What I know.

Alanson and his parents were all Born in New York, USA

I believe he had spent quite a bit of time in Ohio. After his passing Emma, (as head of the household) placed his place of birth as Ohio. This is contrary Census records with him as head of the household.

Military - 1864 Age: 22 - Civil War, Illinois, UNION
140th Regiment, Illinois Infantry (100 days)

Marriage to Emma Baxter -1877 27, Sep

They had 8 children, including my Great Grandfather, Harold.

Death - 1896 Age: 54 Elgin, Kane, Illinois, US
