Wouldn't the child's surname be Miner instead of Griswold? I am a Minor/Miner descendant. There are a huge number of Miner/Minors. Any other information about Richard and Benjamin Miner would be helpful, especially where and when they were born or lived. I am going to presume Connecticut.

This is all I have-- the earliest Richard Miner/Minor in the Thomas Minor Descendants book :
Richard Miner born 24 Oct 1760 in New London, New London, CT married Lucy Griswold in 1783. His father was Jesse Miner and his mother was Jane Watrous of Lyme, CT. I am going to guess that Lucy Griswold was from one of the Griswold families in Lyme. She was born 24 April 1761. I have the entire line back to Thomas Minor in my Minor/Miner descendants book and also their descendants. Of course they did not have a Miner Griswold since their last name was Miner.
