The names Willard and Samuel Griswold in New York must have a connection to my great great grandfather, Willard Griswold, born 1821 in Quebec, Canada. His parents are named as Samuel and Mary Griswold both born in the USA. The one Samuel in New York I have found was born 1799 which would fit the age of Willard's father. Do you have any further information? Willard married Ann Sloan in Ontario and had several children, one of which was my great grandfather Philander Griswold.
