I have just recently run into some old history I had filed away for my years, and I have learned that my Griffin's may have been from, or in, Ga..
I.W.Griffin's birth state is listed as Tnn. on one census and N.C. on another. He had 3 children in Tnn. (somewhere) and then shows up in Catahoula Parrish, La. in 1840. Next I find him and his family, in Angelina Co.,Tx. on the 1850 census. Then on the 1860 and 1870 Dallas Co.,Tx. census' where they died in the 1870's.
Any help or theories are appreciated.
I have never been able to find a marriage between them in Tnn. or N.C..
I just don't know where to turn next.
