My father's name is Thomas Lautzenheiser and he was contacted 20+ years ago and I was only 13, but remember that his birth name was Gribbins. I went down and saw the family once and would like to know my family and family history. He was the youngest out of around 13 children and was put up for adoption. My email is j.lautzenheiser@yahoo.com and my number is 478-955-4876. We lived in Indiana but I'm now in Georgia. I would appreciate any kind of contact. Thank you.

hello

I can't really answer your question until I know some more about you and your father's birth family. I am very distantly related to the Gribbins family but my area of interest takes in very few of them.

please let me know if I can help you

Linda

All i know id that the name is Gribbins and that there was 13 kids in all. My father was born in 1944 and he was the baby of the family. I also know that they were from Kentucky. It was 22disgusting years ago that they found my father and we went to Kentucky to visit them. My dad isn't all that interested in it so I don't know much more. I will talk to him and make sure that it isn't spelled Gribbons. My last name is Lautzenheiser amd we are from Fort Wayne Indiana. Thank you for your reply.

Hello
I don't know that I can help you. I live in England and my area is centred on England as very few of my family have ever lived abroad.
There are only two possibilities: Sarah Myers married Joshua Branthwaite Gribbins in 1910 in Montreal Canada. She was from Distington in Cumberland but they lived in Florida. I have been in contact with someone who is descended from them so there are still Gribbins in Tampa. I seem to remember that she was a police officer.
The other possible family is much less likely. Ann Gribbin was my 3x great grandmother but she lived in Parton, Cumberland and married Isaac Cornthwaite around 1835. I have no other information about her siblings so it's unlikely you can pursue that lead from me.
If I can offer some advice, you need birth certificates. I assume that as you have visited the family you already know the name of your grandparents. you should therefore obtain their birth certificates and from these documents you can work backwards. It is a more methodical approach than simply trying to nail the right Gribbins online.

If I can help you further I will be happy to assist.

best wishes
Linda

It sounds like you had a bad experience with his birth family? I am sorry for that if you did. I need a little information from you in order to determine where you all come into the family, such as his mother and dads name and anything else you might know, that is if youre still interested.
