Re: Gribbin Family Research
Maura,
I'm not aware of any nicknames. I agree that there is at least a one generation gap in any connection. I've added Catherine Gribben and her Convery descendants to my tree in case I uncover a connection to my Gribbins.

Re: Gribbin Family Research
My John Gribbin immigrated to South Carolina in 1873. He married Rebecca Moore in 1878 and had four children in Blackville, SC. He was killed in a shootout with bootleggers in 1894. Thanks anyway, Mary

Re: Gribbin Family Research
Hi.
My Name is Stephen Gribbin, son of Francis William Gribbin (Born 1947- Died 1997) & and grandson of francis Gribbin(born 1925- Died 1979).
I have only just started the search today of my fathers tree, my mum says "my family came from ireland", I am waiting for my grand fathers birth certificate to move on to the next stage etc;
If I get any interesting news on the family name I will stick it on this thread, nice to see so many Gribbin's in one place :-)
Stephen.
